Muntons premium gold yeast

Has anyone used this
IMG_20210418_001344.jpg

I'm making a Northern brown ale today and I have this yeast I got a few weeks back as a just incase. Would it be any good or is it worth me going and getting a safal s04. No brew shops near by so it would have to be boyes or wilkos.
Any reviews or thoughts welcome

Sub-postmasters cleared.

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 02:38 PM PDT

They have lived with a criminal record for 14 years they are now cleared.
I hope they get a huge amount in compensation unfortunately those that have died since wont benefit but their families will.

The judge said the Post Office steamrollered over the sub-postmasters.

Six Sub-postmasters wrongly accused of theft and fraud because of an IT error have become the first to have their convictions quashed. The Post Office had earlier said it would not oppose attempts to overturn the...

Homemade boiler

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 02:16 PM PDT

Hi all,

Spent the afternoon putting together a homemade boiler, I used a Youngs FV and a couple kettle element from the Tesco value range. You can pick them up for around £7 each.

Tested and both powering on not taken it to the boil yet. Seen a post on here of someone doing this previously so thought I'd give it a blast. Still have to cover the external power connections.

I've got a couple of Voltage regulators on the way so I can have a controlled boil without over stressing the...

Hot steeping grains & simply pale ale kit.

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 01:33 PM PDT

Would like to try hot steeping grains and adding to simply pale ale kit then dry hopping,
I've only previously made extract kits.
Any advice much appreciated on the best grain to use, would like to keep it nice and light in colour if poss,
i gather there Is a few light steeping varieties but which would be best for an IPA / pale ale.
I've made this before as intended and also dry hopped with Ekg and they were both very nice,
but fancy trying a different hop variety this time.
Any links to...

Going for the Grainfather

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 12:46 PM PDT

So after a lot of deliberation, reading and watching videos, I think The Grainfather would suit me best.

The wifi and particularly the position of the controller has tipped my decision.

I anybody has some inside information that Robobrew is bringing out a similar device, mounted in a similar position anytime soon, please say now, or forever hold your peace.

Fiery Ginger Beer

2 lemons

What BBQ?

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 12:37 PM PDT

I'm in the market.

The last couple of days sunshine has just made me realise my shonky 4 year old Aldi special rust bucket of a BBQ is not going to be with me much longer.

Pics and recommendations welcome

What did you do today?

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 12:33 PM PDT

Well today I went at my taps and keggerator with Ernest pulling them apart as they have been out of use for a few months.
Dismantled both taps to clean in a mixture of fairy and oxi and the amount of gunk wet and dried that came off was disgusting and didn't even take a picture but take my word.
Anyway cleaned and sanitised as is the keggerator and a full keg of Pale Ale I brewed in October which I sampled last night and will murder after I've transferred a lager to keg and start cold...
