Reducing Oxidation while Bottling

Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:53 PM PDT

Anyone have any good tips, methods or equipment for reducing oxidation from bottling process.

I currently use the PET bottles and have been using the carb drops coz I had some left over still. I then squeeze the air our of the headspace and put in the fermenter fridge with the inkbird probe on the side of one bottle to carb up at around 19-20c.

I currently bottle straight from primary after cold crashing for a few days using one of those bottle wands with the blue tip. This issue I have is...

$1100 - Thornbury

Regretful sale, I have my first kid on the way and something's got to give... unfortunately for me it's going to be my homebrew set up. 😥

I'll be gruff just for a moment. As the sale hurts, and the price fair (at least I think it is!), the price isn't negotiable... So I'll ignore any questions about price. If it doesn't sell I'll lower the price in time. Also it's to be sold as the lot. I won't be breaking it apart.

This will suit anyone who'd like to try it all out...

Blonde Ale

Posted: 05 Jun 2021 07:12 PM PDT

Looking at doing a 11l blonde ale. 1.042 OG 15ibu. It will be 98% pale ale malt and 2% light crystal. Wanting to add Raspberries at about day 3 or 4 to primary fermenter. Would 1kg be okay or should I add more. It will be fermented at 20 degrees using Kolsch dry yeast. Not sure whether to pressure or normal ferment. Would it be better to secondary ferment.

Has anyone got much experience with these?

I used them for the first time for a double batch and they worked well. I often knockout 15L increments on my large system then dilute when I pitch. They are probably not suitable for that as it's a bit hard to weigh as you fill.

has anyone rigged something up to make it easy to fill them? I sat them in a Cooper's fermenter...
