Volume 360 | August 6, 2021 Major Players Targeting Premium Spirits As Growth Continues Major players in the beverage alcohol industry are making deals to boost their premium offerings as higher-priced drinks are expected to continue growing faster than moderate-priced drinks over the next five years. Sales of 750 ml bottles priced at +$200 are expected to see annual growth of 9.3% until 2025, according to IWSR. Pernod Ricard has made a number of premium acquisitions over the past two years, including an investment in Japan’s Kyoto Distillery and a buyout of Monkey 47 gin, while Beam Suntory has committed to making half of its revenue from premium drinks by 2030. Campari also launched a dedicated division this past June focused on luxury spirits in the United States.
