No chill cubes

Posted: 28 Apr 2021 09:35 AM PDT

How often do "no chillers" replace their cube? Mine is getting quite discolored and can't seem to get it clean. After my boil I whirlpool for 10 minutes and let suit for 10 minutes and then straight into cube so still probably over 90 degrees. All advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks Brian

How many taps you sportin'?

Posted: 28 Apr 2021 05:34 AM PDT

Looking at upgrading my series 4 kegerator and I'm having a hard time deciding how many taps to go for.. I'm thinking double it to six but really don't know if I should go a few more or if it's going to be total overkill.

Help a brother out, how many taps do you have at home and would you like more or less?

Cheers 🍻

Have a bit of a issue with fermentation , put xtract Irish Stout down on 18th April with a reading of 1040 after 10 days it is only 1020. fairly constant 20 degrees throughout this period. Any suggestions ie like leave for longer would this help.

Dry hopping techniques

Posted: 27 Apr 2021 07:47 PM PDT

I have tried various methods of dry hopping including during the time the yeast is working, after the yeast has finished etc. I recently came across an article written by Drew Beechum in Craft Beer and Brewing. He has changed the way he previously dry hopped. He suggests bringing the temperatures down to lager type temperature 3 to 4c after the yeast has finished working. Then dry hop for 2 days at those temperatures. He suggests by doing it this way it maximises the sought after fragrances...
