Since 2011, April 17 has been celebrated as Malbec World Day. This deep, densely purple wine may have originated in France, but today more than 75% of all Malbec grapes are grown in Argentina! Originally grown on Argentinian soil in the mid-1800s, Malbec has become emblematic of Argentina worldwide.

Malbec wines grown in South America, as opposed to France, are especially fruit-forward and produce more acidity thanks to the higher elevation and temperature changes.
