Delivery Service Gopuff Acquires Liquor Barn Retail Chain

Delivery start-up Gopuff has continued to expand their retail presence with the acquisition of Kentucky-based retailer Liquor Barn. The financial terms were not disclosed, but Liquor Barn is currently Kentucky’s leading independent chain of beer, wine, and liquor stores. 

Gopuff has made a string of recent acquisitions—including West Coast retail chain BevMo—and recently raised $1.15 billion in capital. The start-up currently has 450 micro fulfillment centers and is aiming to expand its physical footprint in order to separate itself from the competition. The Liquor Barn deal accelerates gives Gopuff 23 additional storefronts.
