Fermentation temp too high Posted: 22 Aug 2021 07:53 PM PDT Hi all Need to know if I've ruined my current brew. Yesterday I brewed a milkshake ipa and used CML haze yeast. The packet stated 15-20c temp range. I was in a rush in the end and pitched at 22c. Then only managed to get it in to my fermentation chamber after 24 hours. When I taped up the probe it showed 24c. I have now dropped it to 19c. I'm planning to dry hop and add vanilla & mango. So basically have I got a ruined batch on my hands? If so can I do anything to rectify? Will my late... Keeping pumps clean Posted: 22 Aug 2021 02:42 PM PDT I use the small 12 volt dc solar pumps for recirculating and transferring during my brew day. When I've finished a circulate hot clean water through the pumps and when it's time to brew again they get stripped down to clean all the nasty black gunge out and sanitise. I'm thinking this must be a problem with all pumps left wet after a brew day. I did strip the pumps down immediately after brew day for a clean and air dry then I left them in bits until next brew day but for some reason... Keeping pumps clean |

Explosive Mobile? Posted: 22 Aug 2021 01:41 PM PDT My mobile phone looked a bit odd this afternoon, it seemed to be swelling. I showed it to my Grandson, who supplied it, and he said it could burst into flames or explode any minute, and put it out in the garden. As it had lived in my trouser pocket for years, that was rather worrying! Has anybody else had a similar problem? |

Dry hop again? Posted: 22 Aug 2021 12:48 PM PDT Hi all, I've just kegged my mountain IPA, I used a couple of the tea strainer things with the hops in for the dry hop but it didn't work at all as I put too many hops in each, they were about half full when I put them in but completely stuffed when I took them out. The hops were very compacted and none of the hop aroma has transferred to the beer so it's a bit of a waste of hops as I can hardly taste the 150g or so I put in. The beers itself is good, just a bit bland. I have around 16l in... Dry hop again? |
My Keto Journey Posted: 22 Aug 2021 12:29 PM PDT Hey guys. I am wanting to document my Keto journey here if this is ok with the admins. I am struggling with my weight and thought it was about time I did something about it. We have done Keto before - the husband is T2D so it is much better for him to eat this way. No medication is needed then as his blood sugar is stable. On some days that I'm cooking I will post some pics of what we've had for dinner and so on, and I'm hoping to lose some weight in the process. I am not doing this to... My Keto Journey |
