By the door they had a display, a close-out offer of Broken Shackles at "half price," $20 for what looked like a slab, 24 x 330. I avoid beers advertised as refreshing, which generally means they're wet and drinkable at Arctic temperatures, . I didn't bite on this one either and still haven't tried it. But take the tip if you wish and let me know what you think of BS. It's a trait of the big that when they buy or develop a "craft" line... RIP Broken Shackles Lager? |

This was from slip while cleaning. | Transfer from SS brew bucket to keg with liquid QD - fittings? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 08:23 PM PDT Just picked up one of the SS brew buckets and want to transfer the beer into a C02 purged keg via the keg's liquid out post. Pretty sure people do this, but as the brew bucket barb is 8mm how do people connect this up to a liquid QD for a keg transfer? thanks. |

| Angram CO Beer Engine Advice Needed Posted: 19 Jul 2021 08:54 PM PDT I've just been getting to grips with my new toy over the past few weeks and have a few things I'm not sure about and wondered if anyone can help. - It came disassembled and there is a threaded bar (tie rod) which I believe goes through the centre of the handle. It came with a nut and 4 washers, which go onto the bar freely. As far as I can tell the rod just screws into the beer engine at one end and a kind of top cap at the other though. Both my local supplier and BOC in Plymouth confirm the new, sudden demand from the restaurant and pub market, means they can only supply existing customers with gas and cylinders. Doubly frustrating as I'd ordered a Fermzilla All-rounder and it's due in the country any day now. | Posted: 19 Jul 2021 03:40 PM PDT So as an experiment, I knew what was going to happen but I had 1/2 a packet of yeast just lying about, I concocted a mead using cheap supermarket honey (Morrison's brand). From racking into secondary, suspicions confirmed - watery, not much honey at all. I used the same recipe with some of the extra-special variety a few months back and by comparison that is much better. Initial gravity 1.090 - from a reading just now (under by a finger nail) - 1.000. So it's fermented out, it has that... | From brew-day to bottling, what's your average elapsed number of days? as a gift for tying for first on the jan competition i was given a huge bag of summit. found this recipe on hbt a while back and figured to give it a shot. i had bought a pack of summit last year and was really disappointed with it, this one already smells and tastes light years better. is making me thing maybe the summit wasn't bad but was the kveik i was trying out as well?
