I have two of these WiseStir MS-20A laboratory quality magnetic stirrers. I only have use for one. The second one has never been used except just to confirm it works. Hi, I absolutly love the Voyager Malts so please don't take this as criticism of the Malt.
It seems when using these Malts with the supplied figures I'm always about 4 to 7 pionts off at the end of the boil. This is especially with my favorite Voyager Veloria Schooner which I use regulary as a single Malt love it.
If I get grain from the Brewman of another brand I quite often actually go over my figures as Ive dialled my settings down to 67% which is what I seem to get with Voyager, Ive...

Hey guys,

Time to ask the experts, so I'm a bit less of a brewing buffoon 😎

In my current setup I have a simple plastic fermentation bucket (tap at bottom, hole in lid for airlock). Half way through (1week) the process I intend to dry hop with 25g cascade in a muslin bag.

I've read of various weird & wonderful setups, of how folks deliver the hops while keeping 02 exposure to a minimum. But I wanted to know how you guys have efficiently done this in the past for a bog standard bucket...

My latest batch of lager appears to have finished fermenting at day 4 (pressurised fermentation at 20C). This is my first batch using an ispindel to measure the fermentation and the reported gravity has been constant (at target FG) for 24 hours. My normal practice is to leave it for 10 days then cold crash for 3 days, adding gelatine, before kegging at roughly 14 days. I just wonder if I am wasting a week and I should just cold crash now and keg in 3 more days? The perceived wisdom is that...

I thought I might as well join the fun and post my own brewday log here in the forum. Today is an experimental bitter with the following recipe. I've never used Northdown before but Fullers use it and I very much enjoy a pint of Pride. I've also never added Chocolate malt to a bitter before but it's there in one of my favourite bitters of late: Darkstar Partridge so I'm putting the two together and doing this today:

85% Pale Malt
10% Munich Malt
3% Crystal 240 EBC
2% Low colour chocolate...

I have gone down the leg route for my brew, I have a 3.6kg co2 connected but the beer come out flat? Did i need to put carbonation drops in the keg like I did with my bottles?

Combined benchtop bottle capper and corker - does such a thing exist ?

At the moment I have a beer bottle capper and wine bottle corker which are two lever operation and on occasions I have problems lining up the caps/corks with the bottles. I am looking to buy combined bench top model that will hopefully make my life easier. Does anyone know of a combined capper and corker ? Thanks!

Self-Build Kegerator - Temp control?

I have aquired the fridge (large upright, no freezer compartment), the kegs, CO2, gas and beer lines and the taps, all ready to go - just one question about temperature...

The 2-4 degrees that it runs at clearly isn't cellar temperature. Should I be thinking about something else to add to make it adjustable to something less cold?

Hi all, moving in a few weeks and the brewery is likely to be in storage for 6-12 months, so might as well move on my consumables.

Malts listed below. All sealed in airtight containers with the spec malts vac-sealed. You'll need to byo bags, buckets, whatever for the base malts as I'm taking my drums with me, but the spec malts are all vac-sealed in bags - I've discarded any bags where the seal has failed.
