American Whiskey Initiates Wave of Innovation in U.K.
American whiskey is on a hot streak in the United Kingdom. Despite the newly implemented tariffs, In 2018 there were 27.6 million bottles of American whiskey exported to the U.K., representing a 100% increase over the amount sold in 2008. With that comes a new generation of products from both American and British ownership that could potentially remake how the country thinks of whisk(e)y.
"It’s cool to see all this at some point as a revival but also as celebration of what can be done and different ideas," says Chico Rosa, the master distiller for The Oxford Artisan Distillery.
