The Pandemic Reignites Dessert-Flavored Alcohol Trend
The confectionary flavored alcohol trend is seeing a global resurgence as the pandemic drove consumers to seek comforting products and flavors. In the U.S., peanut butter-flavored whiskey alone increased by 250% in 2020. But this time, IWSR claims the category's ability to accurately capture flavor has drastically improved.
“The taboo of enjoying these sweet, indulgent flavours seems to have waned over the past year, and more brands are likely to release their own nostalgic flavour iterations. We’re also likely to see more flavour combinations hit the market, as well as flavours that reflect regional products or desserts," says Brandy Rand, COO Americas, IWSR Drinks Market Analysis.
