Buckwheat Groats versus Malted Buckwheat in gluten free beer Posted: 22 May 2021 07:59 PM PDT After suddenly becoming gluten intolerant this year, I'm looking at getting into gluten free home brewing as buying commercial made is expensive. I have some recipes I'm going to try out but am looking at Buckwheat as one of the grains I will use. I have a recipe that involves just using unmilled Buckwheat Groats (and toasted red lentils) in a bag in your brew kettle while you heat it up to 71 degrees then remove the bag. Works very well, but life has once again thrown a spanner in the works...so my loss is your gain. Keggle with stainless fittings & lid. Hop bag. Mash tun. Hoses. MashMaster thermometer. 2x 2400watt Immersion elements (only need one for a boil, one is a spare). Inline circuit breaker for safety. Temprite with stainless Perlick tap (tap spindle is long, so you could adapt for a fridge setup instead). Co2 regulator & fitting. 2x genuine... AG no chill brew rig & dispensing setup (ACT) |
