Mash Temperature Matters

Hey there!

A good beer doesn't have a whole heck of a lot in common with the average potato. But for our money, they're both at their best with a good mash. OK, sure, french fries also go great with a beer and a burger, but we've got tenuous thematic connections to make here, people! Ahem. The point is, without a proper mash, your beer will be downright ... un-a-peel-ing. Oof. Sorry about that.

Mastering the mash—specifically, the temperature—will help you craft a homebrew with the right mouthfeel and body. Knowing just how far to heat things up can make or break your brew. While you're tackling temperatures, learn how to brew up a distinctively delicious steinbierwith super-hot stones. Or, if you'd rather keep things chilly, find out how to turn your homebrew into a tasty frozen treat.

Happy Brewing!
