Francois Bazini of Beam-Suntory Bullish on Future of Whiskey and Gin
Beam-Suntory is the third largest beverage company in the world with a portfolio that includes Jim Beam, Makers Mark, and many others. Francois Bazini, Managing Director of Scotch, Gin & Irish Whiskey, recently expressed his excitement with some of their latest strategies, including the expansion of their Irish whiskey portfolio.
"To support this expansion, particularly in the US, we are continuing to innovate," explained Bazini. "We’ve recently released Kilbeggan Single Pot Still in the US, and we have a new premium Kilbeggan expression coming to the US this year, with plans for further innovations lined up in the coming years as we aim to elevate and premiumize the brand globally."
Bazini has noticed a trend of U.S. consumers exploring new brands in the Irish whiskey segment and he is also expecting growth for world whiskey with Suntory's Ao World Whisky. Suntory also plans to expand their footprint in the gin, as that category continues its growth. "We are broadening our gin commitment so that it delivers incremental, long-term, profitable growth, particularly for markets looking for strategic top-line growth opportunities," says Bazini.
