Posted: 04 Jul 2021 03:17 PM PDT I only joined the group a few days ago and today was my first brewday since joining so I thought I ought to give this a go - at least once. Starting with the crime scene, I revamped our garden a couple of years ago. My wife wanted decking, a gazebo, and comfortable seating, I wanted a bar, win-win! So this is where I also brew, at my bar, shown here in winter plumage (clear plastic PVC tarps fitted to two sides). |
Posted: 04 Jul 2021 03:12 PM PDT A joke to take the minds off the worriers and whittlers, who think we are all going to be wiped out with plagues pestilence and the off chance of a collision with a asteroid. In a small village in Russia the village milking cow dried up, the villagers were panicking wondering what to do. A village elder suggested they go and see the wise man of the woods, so they traipsed up to where the wise man of the woods lived. They explained the problem they had with the cow and he told them they... Joke of the day. |

EE to reintroduce Europe roaming charges in January Posted: 04 Jul 2021 03:03 PM PDT Will the rest follow soon? Mobile operator EE will charge new UK customers extra to use their mobile phones in Europe from January. Those joining or upgrading from 7 July 2021 will be charged £2 a day to use their allowances in 47 European destinations from January 2022. EE, which is part of BT Group, previously said it had no plans to reintroduce roaming charges in Europe. It is the first UK operator to reintroduce the charges since the EU trade deal was signed in December... EE to reintroduce Europe roaming charges in January |

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 01:53 PM PDT I've posted a bit on the forum already, but didn't notice this part! I live on Alderney in the Channel Islands, a 3 and a half mile long rock just off the coast of France. I got into brewing earlier this year and ruined the first few kits (well nearly, OK with a lemonade top) due to inexperience. Now getting into my stride, I think, and brewing kit pimped Saisons and IPAs. Really enjoying it as I love cooking and fiddling with recipes. Other interests are Sea Angling and collecting and... Posted: 04 Jul 2021 12:55 PM PDT Ok, im not even sure I know how to explain this, but here goes. Every type of beer I brew ends up having a distinct "homebrew" flavour. It's not an unpleasant flavour, but it does detract from the beer style flavour. When I come out of the fermenter into the corny it's not there, but over time it develops. I brew all grain, various types (I have noticed it's not as pronounced in wheat beers)and keg in cornies. Any suggestions? Cheers Matt |
