Drizly's 2021 Canned Wine Forecast

Between 2017 and 2021, volume sales for canned wine increased by over 3,800% in Nielsen-tracked channels. The category reached a total of $253 million in sales for the year ending March 20,2021 and are set to continue growing. Drizly reports that rosé wines in a can are the best-sellers at 32% of the category, followed by sparkling wine at 30%, and white wine at 15%.

"In the spring and summer months, as nice weather and widespread vaccinations become a reality, we anticipate more outdoor and on-the-go sipping," says Liz Paquette, Drizly’s head of consumer insights.  "Canned wine is poised for growth as a portable, single-serve offering."
