Infection or yeast cake Posted: 24 Jun 2021 06:35 PM PDT Hey all, I recently brewed a NEIPA. OG was around 1068 and it's currently sitting around 1019. It took a couple days for the air lock to start doing its thing. I used 2 packets of New England East Coast Ale and fermented around 23 - 25 degrees (dont have a fridge to control it better). It's been 5 days and I took a sample and it's super harsh on the nose. Sour and burning sensations. I'm thinking it could be that because its taking a massive amount of the yeast cake at the bottom as per... Infection or yeast cake

Straining Ginger Beer Posted: 24 Jun 2021 06:29 PM PDT Hey, Im going to do my first batch of Ginger Beer. And I have been looking up different recipes and have noticed that everyone is straining the ginger out of the wort before fermenting. I will be using the Fermzilla for fermenting. Wont all the solids drop to the bottom, so straining is not necessary? Or does it all float on the top, or stay in stasis even after a week in the fermenter?

Consists of 75L Blichmann Boilermaker kettle. Cost nearly $800 on its own. Has one tiny dent on edge of base seen in photo from outside and also near brush tip on inside. This was from slip while cleaning. SST Pluto Gun - spare parts / seal Posted: 24 Jun 2021 03:56 PM PDT After serving me many batches of brew, my Pluto gun has developed "incontinence" - pulled it apart for a clean, but no joy. Is the nozzle seal (or the stem assembly) available as a spare part or can be replaced / repaired somehow? Thanks

Which Bronzed Brews book to buy? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 06:56 PM PDT Hi I already own 6 O'clock Brews and looking to buy at least one other book by Peter Symons. I'm currently in the process of making the 1942 Cascade Sparkling Ale from 6 O'clock Brews. I'm interested in brewing a post 1950's Cascade Beer. Ideally something from either 70's or 80's. I can't see a list of recipes from either book, can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of which book would be better for me? or what Cascade recipes are listed in either book so I can choose the... What does this taste mean?? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 06:51 PM PDT Hey guys, so I've done a few batch of All Grain now,and my latest is the second one with this weird taste. Kind of like rotten fruit, I can still taste/smell the hops, but just this weird unpleasant taste and smell is there. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance!!
